Preparing For The Coronavirus: Our Massage Clinic's Approach

Our hope is that the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) will not have an impact on us locally. However, we believe in following the CDC's recommendations and perhaps even being over-prepared.

There is no higher priority to our entire Proactive Massage & Bodywork Team than the safety of our Clients and Staff. We are keeping a close eye on communication from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to stay on top of this evolving situation. According to the most recent information from the CDC, for most people, the immediate risk of being exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19 is thought to be low.

We want you to feel confident when visiting Proactive Massage & Bodywork. As a result, we have enhanced some of our care and cleaning procedures in the interest of our Clients' and Staffs' health and safety. To enhance your confidence in us, we wanted to share some of the measures we have in place to protect our clients from exposure. We have adopted the CDC's Environmental Cleaning and Disinfection Recommendations.

One of the most important everyday preventative actions recommended by the CDC to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases includes washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. Continuing our existing procedures, the staff will be certain to use proper hand-washing protocols before and after each session. We ask that our clients please do the same.

If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty. Our facility has antibacterial soap and hand sanitizer available throughout the clinic for both the therapists and clients usage.

Treatment Room Cleaning:

We thoroughly clean each treatment room before and after each client session. This includes fresh linens and using an EPA’s Registered Antimicrobial COVID-19 Cleaner on any surface that may have been in contact with an individual.

  • This Includes:

  • The Treatment Table

  • Face Rest and Attachments

  • Doorknobs

  • Light Switches

  • Tabletops

  • Equipment Handles

As an added level of protection, we receive our linens from a professional healthcare linen service that offers the highest-quality medical linen products.

Our linen service uses copper-infused fabric that serves as an anti-microbial. All their products comply with or exceed Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and state standards and regulations.

By using these services, we stay on the leading edge of quality standards and set the pace for our industry.

Clinic Cleaning:

We spend several hours each day cleaning our entire clinic and each treatment room. In reaction to current events, we have enhanced our overall cleaning procedures. Now, we are expanding the use of the approved disinfectant throughout the entire clinic. This goes beyond the standard CDC guidelines.

For additional protection, each Guest/Staff Member is required to use a clean, fresh towel after hand washing as provided in our restrooms.

Also, we equip our waiting room/relaxation area with an Ionic Electrostatic Air Purification system. It sanitizes and removes 99.9% of airborne allergens, irritants, and pollutants - plus destroys cold & flu viruses, mold spores, and staph and strep bacteria.

These policies were designed to provide extra comfort to all our Clients so that they can feel confident booking and receiving a therapeutic treatment from Proactive Massage & Bodywork.

We are prepared to navigate through these challenging circumstances with your health and safety at the forefront of everything we do.

Thank you for trusting Proactive Massage & Bodywork.

We look forward to seeing you in the clinic!
